Cybersecurity is not just for computer science majors. The field rewards discipline, attention to detail, operational thinking under pressure, and the ability to work with classified systems — all core military competencies. Entry-level cybersecurity analysts with a Security+ certification are earning $55,000-$75,000 within 6 months of separation. Senior cleared professionals earn $130,000-$200,000+. The field has a critical shortage of qualified workers — estimates put the gap at 3.5 million unfilled positions globally.
