Your military specialty is the strongest predictor of which certification path will be fastest. A 25B (IT specialist) has a 12-month head start on cybersecurity certs. A 68W (medic) is halfway to paramedic or nursing. Use our MOS Translator to see which industry aligns.
Time vs. ROI
Entry-level certs (A+, Security+, CNA) take 1-3 months and open immediate employment. Mid-level certs take 3-6 months but often double starting salaries. Senior certs require experience prerequisites - build toward them while working.
