VCP ResumeOwner reporting guide

APP ANALYTICS

See how people use VCP Resume.

App events use your existing Veteran Career Path Google Analytics dashboard, destination G-CMFKLT321J. App screen paths and vcp_resume_ events keep this program’s reports clearly identifiable. Google controls report access through your Google account. This guide does not display private analytics or grant access.

VCP Resume reports inside your admin

Open VCP Resume in your website admin. Purchases shows completed Stripe checkouts for the app, including $0 promos and additional templates. Select All time for older checkouts. Refunds are shown separately and collected totals are before Stripe fees. Load more when available to complete the selected range.

Choose App activity for daily screen/action/source counts recorded from October 29, 2026. This report needs no Google API setup. It includes consenting activity after the isolated analytics tag loads; repeat visits count again. It excludes resumes, browser/account IDs, VA calculator and crisis-help activity. Earlier traffic remains in Google Analytics. Activity counts are not a payment ledger or unique-person counts.

Start with Realtime

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics with the Google account that manages Veteran Career Path. Select the Veteran Career Path property containing destination G-CMFKLT321J.
  2. Open the resume app in a normal browser and choose Allow usage analytics. Visit Home and My resumes, or start a resume.
  3. In Analytics, open Reports → Realtime. Look for page titles starting with “VCP Resume” and event names starting with vcp_resume_.

Realtime appears before standard reports. Browser privacy signals, ad blockers, a declined analytics choice and a blocked measurement connection can prevent a test visit from appearing. These do not prevent use of the app.

Keep app traffic separate from the website

In the Pages and screens report, use the page-path dimension and a comparison or filter that begins with /resumereview/screen/. The app sends fixed virtual screen paths instead of real URLs, query strings or CV links. Page titles are “VCP Resume · Home,” “VCP Resume · My resumes” and other fixed screen names.

In the Events report, search for vcp_resume_ to see the app’s actions. Use your usual acquisition, country and device reports with the app page comparison to understand where consenting app visitors come from. Incoming sources are reduced to TikTok, LinkedIn, Google, Bing, direct or other; private campaign text and full referring links are not sent.

The resume funnel

Create a Funnel exploration with these events in order. This shows where consenting visitors stop, so you can improve the experience.

  1. vcp_resume_start — chooses Upload or Build manually
  2. vcp_resume_checkout_requested — requests checkout after accepting the purchase terms
  3. vcp_resume_checkout_verified — returns from checkout and the server verifies the purchase
  4. vcp_resume_review_started — asks the app to review the resume
  5. vcp_resume_review_complete — receives a readable completed review
  6. vcp_resume_download — the app starts a PDF, Word or TXT download

Mark vcp_resume_checkout_verified and vcp_resume_download as key events in Google Analytics if you want them in conversion reports.

Use Stripe for revenue. A verified checkout includes a successful $0 promo checkout. Analytics does not send card details, coupon codes, purchase IDs or revenue amounts. It can miss returns and downloads because of consent, blockers or closed tabs; it is not a payment ledger or an exact count of all customers.

Find usage and friction

Optional event parameters such as path, file_type, kind, reason and format can be registered as event-scoped custom dimensions in Analytics if you want detailed breakdowns. Basic page/event counts work without registering them.

Visitor privacy and reporting limits

Analytics begins only after the separate app choice. It has its own random browser/session IDs, independent of sign-in and main-site analytics IDs. Counts describe consenting browsers, not verified individual people. There is no historical backfill for the period when app analytics was off.

The tag runs in an isolated document and cannot inspect resume fields. Resume/job text, names, emails, filenames, photos, account IDs, full URLs and public CV links are excluded. Analytics pauses on the VA calculator and while emergency help is open; these actions and their entries are not measured. Public Virtual CV pages are not tagged by this integration. There are no ads, heatmaps or session recordings.

Visitors can choose Settings → Cookie & storage preferences → Essential only to stop measurement and clear app analytics identifiers. This does not erase Google’s previously received data or private app/purchase records. Manage Google Analytics retention, permissions and data requests in your Analytics account.
